Son of foundation Mako, Mark Stewart, Braden made his debut for Tasman in Round 9 of the 2016 Mitre 10 Cup against North Harbour. He didn't lock in a regular position between then and 2020. Injury saw him take 2021 off however after captaining Central club to the 2022 Tasman Trophy premiership he secured a spot with the Mako and made 7 appearances, earning the Mako Defender of the Year award.
