A Nelson club prop since 2018, Kershawl made the Hurricanes U17's out of Wairarapa Bush after leaving St Kentigern College.

He was recruited to the Crusaders Academy in Nelson and is a member of the Mako squad in 2020. Sadly, Kershawl was injured in a pre-season match against NZ Under 20's and was ruled out for the 2021 season. He enjoyed a much more productive season in 2022 with 8 excellent performances.
