At what age and at what position did you first play rugby?
At age 7, I was a wing / centre.
Who was your biggest influence to become a better rugby player?
My Dad was really passionate about the game and always there for me.
When did you realise you might be any good at the rugby?
At age 10. I was a bit bigger than most kids my age.
Who has been your biggest influence on life away from the game?
My Dad and brother Tahae. Both of them worked hard to provide for the family. Tahae gave up his studies to do his bit for us all.
Who in the Makos gives you the biggest grief and why?
I don’t get too much grief these days because Marty Banks is a loud mouth and draws all the flack. But if it’s any one it would be Fonny (Kieron Fonotia).
Who do you like to give grief to and why?
That would have to be Toothpick Banks. I mean, just take a look at him …
Name any player in world rugby who you would most like to be like and why?
Jeff Wilson, the All Black winger. He had blistering pace and a great skill set.
What is the one thing that people don’t know about you?
I suffer from a form of arthritis and I wear an orange wristband which says “Arthritis. A Joint Effort” to draw attention to the cause.
