At what age and at what position did you first play rugby?
I began at age 4 and I was a 2nd five-eight.
Who was your biggest influence to become a better rugby player?
Mainly some rep coaches and trainers who told me I had what it would take if I did the hard yards. It was about the 2011 season in Marlborough that I began to pay attention.
When did you realise you might be any good at the rugby?
When I started getting some trials and making rep teams.
Who has been your biggest influence on life away from the game?
My mum and dad Grant & Brenda, and my grand-parents have always been a big and influential part of my life.
Who in the Makos gives you the biggest grief and why?
Everyone. No one is safe from a prank or sledge or two in this team.
Who do you like to give grief to and why?
Marty Banks for sure. His come-backs are terrible but they are always worth a laugh.
Name any player in world rugby who you would most like to be like and why?
That would have to be Tony Woodcock, the All Blacks loosehead prop. He’s the most established and respected loosehead in the world.
What is the one thing that people don’t know about you?
You tell me, there are no secrets around here. [Ed – Tim has to be one of the best pig hunters on the planet and is always good for some outstanding meat for the team barbecue].
