You’ve been with the Makos for 8 seasons now. What has made this season so special?
Our coaches are awesome and together with the players have developed better team work and understanding of each other. It’s been fun.
At what age and at what position did you first play rugby?
I started when I was 4 or 5 years old and played prop before moving to halfback.
Who was your biggest influence to become a better rugby player?
My dad Paul still gives me plenty of advice to this day.
Who has been your biggest influence on life away from the game?
My parents and my Central club mate, Reyne Volavola.
When did you realise you might be any good at the rugby?
I’m still trying to figure that out.
Who in the Makos gives you the biggest grief and why?
Joe Wheeler. Even my younger brother Jesse tries to give him grief before I crack him.
Who do you like to give grief to and why?
Bryce Heem, because he’s the worst Fifa 14 player in the house, and Vernon Fredericks, because he’s the worst cards player.
Name any player in world rugby who you would most like to be like and why?
Reyne Volavola, because he’s very fast and he is dark and tall and has big eyes.
What is the one thing that people don’t know about you?
I have two cats and love them very much.
