Want to fly to the final? [Nelson Mail]

An urgent message is going out to Tasman Makos fans wanting to fly to Saturday’s NPC final in New Plymouth.

The Tasman Rugby Union has the possibility of securing a 50-seat charter flight and needs to know by mid-morning tomorrow whether enough supporters want to take it.

Its commercial and marketing manager, Les Edwards, said they’d had inquiries from sponsors and fans about the possibility of the rugby union being able to put on a supporters’ flight.

"It’s not an easy thing to be able to secure a charter flight but subject to Air New Zealand being able to provide the flight crew and groundhandling staff we have the possibility of a flight."

The flight would depart Nelson on Friday at 8.30pm returning from New Plymouth on Sunday at 8.40am and cost $475 a person return.

A match ticket, Yarrow Stand Covered, would cost $30.

¦Those wanting to go need to let the rugby union know by 10am tomorrow, Tuesday.  Email: info@makos.co.nz saying how many seats on the plane and how many match tickets required.

Edwards said accommodation was scarce in New Plymouth and would be the supporter’s responsibility to organise.

A beds for billets campaign has been launched by the Taranaki Daily News to help out Tasman Makos supporters wanting to attend Saturday's NPC final.
