The Tasman Rugby Union and NBS announced that NBS will be theUnion’s Major Sponsor. This incorporates sponsorship of the Tasman Makos andcommunity rugby in the Region.

Both organisations are delighted with the opportunities thepartnership presents at a local level and regional level.  NBS believes that supporting sport, culturaland recreational activities is a way of promoting a sense of pride in ourcommunities and an attitude of success, and sees the Tasman Rugby Union and theTasman Makos as a good fit in this regard.

“Rugby in the Tasman region and the success of the Tasman Makoshas galvanised the communities in which we operate. The Makos are thecommunity’s team and as a community bank, we see many synergies andopportunities to leverage this partnership at a local branch level” said PaulBell, NBS Deputy Chairman.

According to Tony Lewis, Tasman Rugby Unions Chief Executive, therelationship with NBS has come at an ideal time. “We are committed to growingour game and player base from the grass-roots up and this includes having ourplayers, especially the Makos, out and about with local communities throughoutour region. With their local community branches, NBS will provide us with greatopportunity to engage at a local level”.
