The Tasman Rugby Union is one of New Zealand’s leading rugby unions.

Within the Tasman Rugby Union our Professional Rugby Team is one of themost successful in New Zealand.

We are currently seeking a Mitre 10 Cup Assistant Coach with a speciality for defence and set piece.

This position is fixed term (negotiable 3-6 months) for the balance of 2017 or permanent for the right candidate. It isNelson based.

The Assistant Coach will be a key member of the Makos coaching team,ensuring that Tasman Rugby Union creates a standard for innovation and successin rugby development. 

Accountabilities / Responsibilities successfulapplicant must have:

1.    Set Piece and defencecoaching expertise

2.    Mitre 10 Cup Team Support

§    To assistthe Head Coach in planning and preparation of all sessions.

§    To assistin developing and implementing the game plan and team strategies.

§    To helpidentify team strengths and weaknesses.

§    To assistthe Head Coach with Team Selection.

§    Developthe players technically, tactically and mentally.

CommunityRugby

Assistwhen required with the delivery of set piece and defence as well as other rugbyskill development courses and sessions to:

§  Crusaders Academy

§  Representativeteams

§  Premierclubs and Secondary school teams
