Nelson Test Match Sold Out

BY STAFF REPORTER [Nelson App]

Trafalgar Park is officially sold out for Nelson’s historic, first ever All Blacks Test match this weekend, New Zealand Rugby announced today.

When the All Blacks and Argentina take the field on Saturday night, it will be in front of a sold out crowd of 21,480 fans with Trafalgar Park’s capacity increased with an additional 14,872 temporary seats installed especially for the Investec Rugby Championship Test match.

Tasman Rugby Union marketing manager Les Edwards wanted to thank everyone who has supported the inaugural All Blacks test in Nelson.

"Because of you, we can now enjoy a full house and the amazing atmosphere a sold out stadium will bring."

New Zealand Rugby Chief Executive Officer Steve Tew said the sell-out event set up the ideal backdrop to an historic occasion.

"It is a special occasion taking an All Blacks Test match to Nelson for the first time and we would like to congratulate the Tasman Rugby Union for their efforts in selling the match out,” said Tew.

"With so many fans descending on Trafalgar Park we would recommend planning to get in early and make the most of the occasion.”

All Blacks fans will have the chance to meet the players with a number of events planned in Nelson on Friday 7 September.

A public signing session will take place at former All Black Wyatt Crockett’s Stirling Sports store, a Coin Rugby competition at the Nelson ASB branch and a free public sausage sizzle at the 1903 Square will give fans plenty of opportunity to mix and mingle players.

All events start at 10am and those fans who have missed out on tickets may be in luck with some prizes on offer at ASB and the Square event.
