Mondo to help the Makos travel further

The Tasman Rugby Union (TRU) and Mondo Travel are pleased to announce a strategic partnership for the next two years whereby Mondo Travel will be the Preferred Travel Partner of the TRU and the Tasman Makos.

Tony Terrill, Mondo Travel CEO, and Phil Harris, Managing Director of Mondo Motueka, both have strong ties to the Tasman region. Both see involvement with the Tasman Makos and Tasman Rugby as an exciting opportunity to assist the Union and team to grow as they travel up to the ITM Cup Premiership in 2014.

Mondo Travel enjoys a number of sporting group associations locally and nationally including Auckland Cricket, Volleyball NZ and Touch NZ.

”Mondo is delighted to have secured such an arrangement with the TRU and Makos. There are many synergies between the brands and like our own business the Makos are about to venture into another hugely exciting period in their relatively short history. We, at Mondo, want to be part of that journey and we look forward to working with the TRU team to deliver a truly exciting value proposition throughout Nelson/Marlborough, in particular, but also to the wider community.” said Terrill.

For the TRU the association with Mondo Travel is an opportunity to provide added value to its sponsors, clubs, schools and supporters.

“Mondo is a dynamic and well respected company in the travel services industry and both Tony and Phil are passionate about rugby and the Tasman Makos in particular. We will work closely with Mondo to extend the Makos’ brand among their wider customer base and to provide real value to our own stakeholders” TRU CEO Tony Lewis said.
